The lateral blades have a semicircular shape, mimicking the shape of the tube retractor when left and right are combined, but can be retracted further or pivoted to increase visualization. Lateral blades can be combined with counter retractor blades for 3-way and 4-way retraction, with all blades able to move independently and pivot up to 30° degrees for superior wound exposure.

Light Channels within the extreme lateral retractor blades are designed for use with TeDan’s LED light source and light cable. These channels illuminate the surgical site, increasing visibility and eliminating the need for surgeon headlights.
