Medical Blades

Medical Blades from TeDan Surgical are used with our state-of-the-art surgical retractors to retract muscle and tissue in order to access the surgical site. Medical blades from TSI are available in a variety of lengths, widths and styles to best meet the anatomical needs of the patient. Designed to minimize tissue trauma and maximize visualization, all TSI retractor blades are radiolucent under X-Ray or fluoroscopy.

Our patented, pivoting retractors are on the cutting edge of access instrumentation. The pivoting mechanism pivots the medical blade up to 30° within the wound site, retracting additional muscle and tissue closest to the wound site without enlarging the incision. This innovative technique minimizes tissue trauma while increasing the surgeon’s field of vision.

Medical blades from TSI have either a ball snap or conical top. Ball snap retractor blades may be paired with any TeDan or competitor retractor. Conical retractor blades are designed for use with TSI’s conical retractors, and the secure attachment that the conical tip provides prevents blade drift within the surgical site.

Tired of wearing a headlight? A light channel designed within the blade connects to the TSI light cable. Our 52 watt cool heat light source illuminates the surgical site, reducing shadows and eliminating the need for headlights.
