Transverse Retractors

Transverse Retractors from TeDan Surgical are available in multiple sizes and styles to best meet patient’s needs. Transverse retractors easily fit on top of the base retractor to create four-way retraction when the procedure demands additional visualization.

We provide transverse retractors for cervical and lumbar procedures. Transverse retractors from TSI are available side loading or top loading. Traditional top loading retractors accept all competitor ball snap retractor blades. Our patented sure lock side loading transverse retractors safely and easily connect retractor blades to the retractor body. .

Our patented, pivoting retractors pivot the retractor blade up to 30° within the wound site, retracting additional muscle and tissue closest to the wound site without enlarging the incision. This innovative technique minimizes tissue trauma while increasing the surgeon’s field of vision.

Surgeons may choose from an array of radiolucent retractor blades available in multiple lengths, widths and styles. Conical retractor blades may be paired with our conical transverse retractors to limit blade rotation within the surgical site.
